TCIskimmer Lite for ESDR3
What to expect: DX version is ready and currently on hold - until the RI1FJZ DXpedition completed and verdict received.
What was done: Demo removed from mainline. Reason: for the last 4 weeks all tiers gone so far in feature reachness, then Demo lost its reason, it is no longer represent the project capability.
Versions
- Basic
- Advanced
- DX
Basic
The mainstream version - enough for the vast majority of operators. It includes:
- two decoders of different types, 75 Hz per window only (decoding width per signal), 48000 IQ TCI only (ESDR3 panorama slice width);
- skimmer resolution of the primary callsign candidate and its alternatives;
- a basic log tied into the skimmer: add, view, edit, delete, export;
- CW macros;
- basic and advanced settings.
Contest
The contester's version. It includes:
- two decoders of different types, switchable 50/75 Hz per window (decoding width per signal), 48000/96000 IQ TCI (ESDR3 panorama slice width);
- everything the Basic skimmer does, plus:
- an optional RST / SRX / SRX INFO breakdown of whatever the skimmer managed to copy;
- one-click transfer of all three (or two, depending on the contest) into the log;
- a bandmap, vertical or horizontal, with a display toggle between bandmap only, panorama only, or both;
- an optional multiplier prompt.
- everything the Basic log does, plus:
- a contest builder - import, export and edit contest definition files (three live contests included as examples) so each contest can be tailored to your own needs and to the organisers' current rules;
- integration with DXCC, master.dta, master.scp, scp.db;
- a dedicated contest log, kept apart from the general log, with ADIF and Cabrillo export.
- everything in Basic macros, plus contest-aware configurable CW macros;
- basic and advanced settings, with an extra contest settings menu.
DX
"The true-blue nerd" version, equipped with settings for:
- DXpedition Op dealing with a brutal pileup of 200+ stations over UP1-UP5;
- Low SNR DX hunter, pulling a QSB-ridden DX station out of the noise from +4.5dB SNR.
It includes:
- all reasonable "bells and whistles" (fair warning - require ancient-rare skill "Reading The Manual");
- four decoder types, each for its own job, 50/75 Hz per window, 48000/96000 IQ;
- configurable prefix and continent filters for DXpedition use;
- and a good deal of experimental functionality that occasionally surprises even own dev team ... but can be genuinely useful.
Requirements and compatibility
- Compatibility
- The EE product line running ESDR3 with TCI 2.0 (formerly numbered 1.10).
Operating systems
- macOS 13.4 Ventura or later (Silicon and Intel);
- Linux;
- Windows 10/11.
Hardware, in order of preference
CPU is the key.
- Mac: any Apple Silicon, M1 or newer; works on Intel Mac too, but less recommended.
- Windows/Linux: any x86-64 with AVX2 (Intel Haswell 2013+ / AMD Zen+). (Note: An "AI PC" with an NPU - Core Ultra, Ryzen AI, Snapdragon X - not an anvantage for this app);
- RAM: the 8 GB in any current machine leaves plenty to spare - the skimmer wants 0.5 GB.
Licensing and support
- Every version is licensed.
- Licences are personal and issued against Op's main callsign and contest callsign (if there is a separate one).
- To get one, place a licence request via shop.advancedradio.net. All intellectual and commercial rights are passed to Advanced Radio Systems.
- Official support and feedback channels: Telegram: TCIskimmerLite (dedicated) and EE Official User Group
- All updates within licensing period are free of charge.

FAQ
- 1. Will there be an ESDR2 version?
- No.
- 2. Will it work with radios other than EE?
- Not until those other radios come up with something equivalent to TCI IQ.
- 3. Where is the telnet?
- Obsolete technologies are not in use in our product. A modern API way is our way.
- 4. How do I connect it to 3rd party loggers?
- Ask the authors of those 3rd party loggers. The API is documented and open, it's up to 3rd party devs to come knocking. Precisely the reason we have spent time embedding the built-in log.
- 5. Will it work with the new remote?
- "That is what the whole thing was written for"(c).
- 6. Can it be customised for what I do - club station, team?
- Yes. Put it in writing and get in touch. Whether it is achievable, and what it will cost, follows from what you ask.
- 7.Why subscription, why not 'single purchase'?
- Two reasons behind it: - This is live project. You - use and lodge requests; we - deliver. Keeps both parties in line. - It is business-supported model, fully alighed with EE's vision towards entire Ecosystem future and place of supplementary services in it.
- 8.Does it work with Thetis and ArtemisSDR?
- No. Not tested.
- 9. What does the interface look like?
- Like this:
